Job Summary: The Cheese Packaging Lead is responsible for giving instructions and work tasks to a group of cheese packagers. They follow-up on these tasks to ensure completion. They provide feedback and support to employees they lead. They are also be involved in production tasks as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help plant automation and mechanics to troubleshoot production problems if needed and give assistance to operators and management.
  • Train operators to follow proper procedures for what job they are assigned to do.
  • Insure production stays on time and handle any production changes as they arise.
  • Insure quality procedures are followed at all times.
  • Train operators on cleaning procedures for shutdown on all three packaging room and proper CIP and production set up.
  • Responsible for insuring the release of rework and documentation control on FIFO and recording of rework into production.
  • Conduct work in a safe manner and abide by all company safety policies.
  • Understanding of and compliance with all Quality Assurance policies, and immediate reporting of any potential food safety issues to management.

  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.

    • Stop any observed unsafe acts, and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
    • Support safety policies and programs.

 Education Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certification/Licensure Required:

  • None.

Skills Required:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Understand and obey all Good Manufacturing Practice.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Understand Plant Quality procedures and ensure compliance on your shift.
  • Position involves or may involve operation of a Critical Control Point as determined by the plant HACCP/Food Safety Plans
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Requires the ability to communicate and clearly document work.
  • Strong organizational skills.
