Agropur is looking for an Associate Controls Engineer.

Job Summary: 

Programming of automation and controls systems along with facilitating projects, assisting with trouble shooting, training technicians, and implementing new procedures and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose problems and implement solutions for industrial control systems and production processes.
  • Responsible for all aspects of PLC's including ladder logic, function block diagrams, sequential function blocks, safety logic, motion control, communication between processors, etc. Must be able to troubleshoot and modify existing code.
  • Responsible for all aspects of HMI's including modifying existing graphics, creating new graphics based on an existing library of blocks, alarms, trends, backing up and restoring HMI projects, maintaining and troubleshooting industrial PC's and touchscreens.
  • Configure and interface with many different types of field instruments with both Ethernet/IP and hardwired IO including VFDs, level sensors, flow meters, chart recorders, photo eye's, temperature sensors, etc.
  •  Modify existing control panels as needed including AC and DC power distribution, fuses, breakers, terminal blocks, power supplies, etc. Must be able to conform to all appropriate electrical standards including NFPA 70E. Must be proficient at panel wiring, wire crimping, etc.
  •  Use of Autocad for updating and maintaining equipment and department documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain plant Ethernet network as needed. Must have at least a basic understanding of IP addresses, netmasks, gateways, DNS, switches, routers and cat5(e) wiring.
  • Assist with implementing projects as needed.
  •  Help production with efficiencies, throughput, safety, and quality. Assist in generating, updating and maintaining reporting systems throughout the plant.
  •  Work with management on new ideas or policies from concept to implementation.

  • Bachelor's or Technical Degree in Electrical, PLC/HMI Programming
  • Drive Programming Knowledge
  • Wiring Ability
  • General Mechanical Skills
  • PC/Networking Knowledge
  • 2-5 years in a manufacturing environment
