Agropur is looking for a Quality Control Chemist. 


Essential Functions include the following:

  1. Perform a wide range of tests on nutritional compounds using HPLC.
  2. Maintain HPLC and perform routine maintenance on the instrument.
  3. Maintain detailed records of method performance; analyze and interpret test results.
  4. Recognize results that deviate from established standards, and recommend appropriate actions.
  5. Communicate results and any potential issues in a timely manner.
  6. Perform testing necessary to troubleshoot problems as they arise.
  7. Recommend revisions to procedures to improve efficiencies.
  8. Establish procedures for new assays, materials, products and equipment.
  9. Summarize and present analytical results when required.
  10. Comply with good housekeeping and company safety practices.
  11. Perform maintenance testing when required and as needed to troubleshoot issues.
  12. Validate Methods and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) using the given protocols.
  13. Develop Methods when required for new sample testing.


Non-Technical Competencies:

  • This individual will possess strong analytical skills and extensive hands-on experience with sophisticated analytical instruments such as gas chromatography, high pressure liquid chromatography, mass spectroscopy, and inductively coupled plasma.
  • This individual will develop new methods, validate methods and maintain instruments.
  • Should have a basic understanding of statistics including regression analysis and standard analytical laboratory practices.
  • Must be able to follow method validation procedures, data analysis to validate previously developed, and newly developed methods.
  • Must be able to research and develop a method development program to determine new testing procedures for samples that require them.
  • Must be highly motivated, strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be able to work independently with an ability to be flexible to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
  • Experience with Solid Phase Extraction would be beneficial.
  • Communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction.
  • Cooperate with coworkers within an organized team environment or work alone with supervision.
  • Manage time effectively to complete assignments within expected time limits.
  • Proficient in sample extraction procedures.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and carry out work for successful project completion.
  • Proficient in the operation of the computer and data acquisition programs including Chemstation and Microsoft Office.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to write protocols and reports with minimum supervision.



Requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field with a minimum of four (4) years' experience in analytical testing laboratory. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
