Agropur is currently looking for an Assistant Line Leader on  2nd shift. 

 

Responsibilities: Providing back-up leadership to the work crew; ensure that lot numbers match on product, labels, and paperwork; complete pre-operation inspection log on Daily Production Record; review production schedule to ensure all necessary items are available; monitor all phases of the production line; ensure quality of the products being produced; follow standard work methods; practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

 

  • Effectively communicate with Line Leader from previous shift - report to line ~15 minutes early - discuss where they are at in run and any problems they encountered
  • Enforce safety and GMP procedures/
  • policies with production operators and staffing employees.
  • Fill in as the Line Leader on the days that the Line Leader is on PTO, working on another line, and assist the Line Leader with the daily responsibilities listed below
  • Check blend sheet paperwork to make sure the proper components are being used (bags, pallets, fill weights, etc.), and check that lot numbers match on product, labels, and paperwork
  • Completion of pre-operation inspection log on Daily Production Record
  • Review production schedule for your line and check all necessary items - batched materials to ensure they are signed off by QA and staged in proper order based on schedule - any special components needed (oil, oil sprayer, tote dump, type of bags, etc.)
  • Communicate with your line crew regarding daily schedule
  • Coordinate packaging needs (proper size, type, and timing) with appropriate batching person.
  • Ensure metal detector and sifter checks are being completed by a qualified operator within required frequencies.
  • Check tare weight of scale and ensure tare weight is being maintained during packaging.
  • Assign people to work stations and inform supervisor of any absences and/or line problems.
  • Monitor all phases of the production line and quality of product being produced: - any potential mechanical problems (notify maintenance if needed) - periodic bag seal inspections - ensure that all required samples are being pulled - monitor the consistency of the product (watch for color changes or color variation during a run) - make sure pallets are neatly stacked - make sure bags are being scaled to the correct weight - periodic checks on product yield/recovery during the run
  • Ensure product change-overs are done properly - sweep out and tap down tanks (following normal product flow in system) - check sifter tailings and CCP's, record notes on production record - clear the line of materials used on the finished run (unused labels, bags, etc.) and bag up samples & scoops and turn into QA - close out paperwork for the run (including yield calculation to ensure all materials have been recovered before starting next batch).
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and line.
  • Make sure animal feed is bags are sealed, neatly stacked, and recorded at the end of your shift.
  • Monitor break times of operators on line.
  • Complete the forklift operational checks at beginning of each shift.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. frequently.
  • Great attention to detail and strong communication skills are a must.
