Agropur is currently looking for a Controls Engineer.


Job Summary:

Reporting to the Regional Automation Manager, the Controls Engineer will be a key component to the Engineering Automation Team and will be responsible for providing automation support to Agropur US plants in the Wisconsin region.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the go-to resource for plant personnel regarding projects, training, commissioning and support of our equipment, managing multiple projects at a time.
  • Supply necessary data, complete testing, and commissioning of onsite project equipment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, problem solve, install, test, and commission electrical controls for various plant and capital projects.
  • Verification and correction of PLC and HMI code for all inputs and outputs.
  • Modify existing systems and programs as needed.
  • Setup of PLCs, HMIs, robots, motors, VFDs, cameras, and lasers.
  • Interface with Senior Controls Engineer and other Automation team members as needed to correct issues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle shifting priorities.



  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science; bachelors preferred.
  • Five years' experience working with electrical controls.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of building operations, mechanical plant strategies, control diagrams, and electrical diagrams.
  • Project management experience.
  • Deep knowledge with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Deep working knowledge with Rockwell Automation's line of Software.
  • Working knowledge with Wonderware's line of Software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic, and AutoCad.
  • Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley, Rosemount, Endress-Hauser, Anderson-Negele, IFM, Honeywell, Hach, Banner, Turck, SMC, Etc... hardware, sensors & software.
  • Working knowledge of Columbia-Okura, Fanuc & ABB robots.
  • Good working knowledge of tools, electrical practices, and safety.
  • Excellent working knowledge of tools, electrical practices, and safety.
  • Ability to maintain all company policies.
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Manufacturing and/or industrial maintenance experience
