Agropur is currently looking for an IT Support Specialist.


Position Summary:

Provide on-site and remote technical support for information systems to company employees, including Windows PC hardware, printers and other devices; local, wireless and wide-area networking ; software applications including Windows operating systems, shared file systems, Microsoft Office applications, web browsers, email and others.  This position can be located in Saint Paul, MN or Grand Rapids, MI.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively and efficiently with on-site and remote users to maintain/upgrade hardware and software, resolve issues and provide excellent support. Give basic instruction to end users on hardware and software operation.
  • Responsible to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of software. Perform hardware/software upgrades to existing computer equipment as needed, including coordinating assistance from third parties when necessary.
  • Effect timely resolution of problems to ensure customer satisfaction, eliminate downtime, and prevent cost overruns.
  • Provide user maintenance on the network including access, security and maintaining configurations within standards.
  • Expected to provide continuous improvement suggestions in software, hardware or computing practices to effectively and efficiently utilize IT resources.
  • Communicate on a timely basis with supervision, management &/or users regarding issues, failures, upgrades or replacements to ensure user understanding and planning.
  • Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating system and application software being used to provide high levels of support to users. Ensures that personal computers and networks are functioning properly and are available for the intended uses.
  • Answers end users' inquires. Diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems. Recommends or performs remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation.
  • Be "on-call" for periods as assigned by manager.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Position requires an AA/AS degree in computer related field plus two years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both in written and verbal form in English
